Sharjah 24: The Punishment and Correctional Institution (PCI) of the Sharjah Police General Command (SPGC), in cooperation with the Dental Implants Research Centre (DIRC) in Dubai, implemented a project of dental treatment and implantation for the institution’s inmates.
This comes with the participation of a group of highly qualified and distinguished consultants, doctors and nurses within the country, and in the presence of Colonel Mona Sorour Al Shuwaihi, Acting Director of the Punishment and Correctional Institution (PCI), Major Khalfan Al Naqbi, Director of the Support Services Branch, and a number of non-commissioned officers in the institution.
18 volunteer doctors participated in the treatment campaign, under the supervision of the DIRC, benefiting more than 33 male inmates and 8 female inmates from the institution.
Colonel Mona Al Shuwaihi confirmed that the SPGC is keen to continue organising the various initiatives for the inmates of the institution with its various strategic partners.
The dental implant project has been going on for 12 years and is organised in two phases annually.
The SPGC believes in providing all aspects of appropriate health care for the inmates, and ensuring that they obtain their rights, which are consistent with international laws, customs and covenants related to human rights.
