Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Sports Council (SSC) explored ways of collaborating and advancing the joint development of rowing and sailing sports, with the aim of elevating these activities and harnessing diverse resources. They also discussed the execution of programmes between both sides to steer towards desired objectives and draw upon each other's expertise.
This occurred during a shared meeting between the SSC and a delegation from the UAE Sailing and Rowing Federation at the SSC's headquarters. The gathering was attended by His Excellency Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council, and Mohammed Abdullah Al Obaidli, General Secretary of the Federation.

The meeting centred on the forthcoming plans of both parties to enhance sailing and rowing sports. The SSC's role in advancing maritime sports across the Emirate was acknowledged, as well as encouragement for individuals to participate in sailing and rowing. The arrangement of events and championships to boost participation was also discussed. They also deliberated on methods to put into action the Federation's plans in collaboration with the SSC in the future.

Al Hazami emphasised the SSC's eagerness to collaborate with the Federation in the upcoming period, leveraging the Emirate's substantial sports capabilities and infrastructure to guarantee the success of various events and tournaments, thereby benefiting both sides' efforts in this respect.

In response, the delegation expressed appreciation to the SSC for the fruitful meeting, which is anticipated to positively influence sports development. The mutual commitment to nurturing cooperation with councils, federations, and sports clubs was also underscored.
