Sharjah 24: The Sharjah men's handball team opened its matches in the preliminary round of the 46th edition of His Highness the President's Handball Cup, by defeating the Mleiha team 27-24, in the meeting that brought the two teams together at Al Nasr Club hall in Dubai, on Saturday.
Being held under the auspices of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, from 13 to 27 May, the competition will see the participation of eight clubs: Sharjah, Mleiha, Dibba Al Hisn, Shabab Al Ahly, Al Ain, Al Jazira, Al Wasl, and Al Nasr.
With its victory today, Sharjah will meet the winner of the Al Nasr- Al Ain match, which Al Ain has already won, to meet Sharjah in the semi-finals, May 20, at a neutral stadium, then the final match will be played on May 27, at the Sheikh Zayed Sports Complex in the Emirate of Fujairah.
