Sharjah 24: The Eastern Region Police Department (ERPD), represented by the Dibba Al Hisn Comprehensive Police Station, organised a traffic awareness initiative, with the aim of educating vehicle drivers on being alert while driving.
During the initiative, drivers were made aware of the need to adhere to traffic rules and laws, and not to be distracted by the phone while driving.
It also included the distribution of a number of devices that help drivers not to be distracted by the phone, as using the phone while driving is one of the traffic violations stipulated in the Federal Law in Article No. (A32), which is fined of 800 dirhams and 4 black points.
This initiative comes within a series of initiatives adopted by the Sharjah Police, which are in line with the strategic programmes of the Ministry of Interior.
The Sharjah Police also calls on drivers to adhere to traffic rules and not to be preoccupied with other than the road while driving to preserve their lives and the lives of others.
