Major Hussein Haji Karam and his accompanying delegation were received by Lieutenant Colonel Matar Sultan Al Ketbi, Head of the Airport Police Department at Sharjah International Airport, Major Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Director of the Guards and Patrols, Captain Saeed Al Tunaiji, Director of the Investigation Branch, and a number of specialist officers.
The visit aimed at fostering cooperation among the two leaderships in all areas of security that contribute to the development of common goals, and to review the best practices applied by Sharjah Airport Police to counter some travelers practice handing baggage to other passengers.
The Dubai Police delegation was briefed on Sharjah Police experience in reducing the phenomenon of handing a traveler baggage to another passenger to evade customs in the country of arrival, the related negative consequences, and solutions to reduce such phenomenon.
The visit also included an introductory field tour in a number of departments to learn about the regulations and terms of reference at Sharjah International Airport .
