SM: digital scanning vehicles scan 22 thousand cars daily

Sharjah24: Hamed Al-Qaed, Director of the Public Parking Department in Sharjah Municipality (SM) has highlighted the effectiveness of the digital scanning vehicles, stressing that the vehicles have monitored more than 22,000 vehicles in public parking areas per day, saving great effort and time and immensely simplifying the work of inspection teams, mimicking the UAE's innovative approach across all sectors.

The digital scanning vehicles are among the most prominent inspection tools launched by the Municipality to monitor the paid parking service in all areas of Sharjah.

The vehicles give a grace period of 10 minutes without paying the fees. They can read the licence plates and segregate data of fees paid, monitoring parking violations in different areas of the emirate.

The Municipality currently has 3 digital scanning vehicles to cover more than 58,000 parking lots in all areas of the city.
