This initiative is in harmony with the Sharjah programme focused on improving customer experience and seeks to optimise services for users while also fostering urban, population, and investment growth in the emirate. The service is essential for acquiring information regarding sewerage networks and the protocols for their safe management prior to commencing different projects.
Obaid Saeed Al Tunaiji, Director General of Sharjah City Municipality, detailed that the service allows both private and public entities to obtain specific information regarding sewerage services, encompassing networks for sewerage, stormwater drainage, and treated irrigation water within designated coordinates. The aim is to safeguard these networks throughout construction or infrastructure projects, maintaining their functionality and efficiency.
Eng. Khalifa bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, Director of Technical Services, highlighted that the service has processed around 3,500 requests related to the sewerage network over the past year. This led the municipality to enhance the service for quicker processing and more straightforward procedures. Requests may now be submitted via the Sharjah City Municipality’s website, along with the necessary documents attached.
After submission, the appropriate team evaluates the request, incorporates technical notes, and develops a sewerage network plan that outlines the existing services within the designated plot. Upon approval, the applicant is provided with the plan and informed of any services that extend beyond the boundaries of the plot.
This efficient process guarantees effective project planning and protects essential infrastructure, all while aligning with the emirate’s overarching development goals.
