 Instant access to parking services 

Hamed Al Qaed, Director of Public Parking Management, explained that the app simplifies access to parking services, making them available at any time of the day. It allows users to obtain parking permits instantly, ensuring that they can benefit from public parking services whenever and wherever needed. This initiative marks a significant step towards the complete digitalisation of public parking services, aligning with Sharjah’s vision of improving customer experience and optimising government services. 

 Comprehensive features for a smooth experience 

‘Mawaqif’ app enables users to pay for public parking, issue and renew seasonal subscriptions, check available parking lots, and inquire about and settle fines. Additionally, it facilitates payments for smart parking lots, ensuring a seamless user experience. More features will be added to further enhance convenience. Payments can be completed easily through e-wallets and digital payment platforms such as Apple Pay and Samsung Pay.

Al Qaed highlighted that Sharjah Municipality is committed to integrating AI-powered solutions into its parking management system. Recent innovations include smart parking lots that operate through automated systems, AI-driven inspections using digital scanning vehicles, and smart payment machines linked to an intelligent system. These advancements reflect Sharjah’s dedication to digitalisation, ensuring that public parking services are efficient and hassle-free for both residents and visitors.

Sharjah City Municipality has unveiled its new digital app, ‘Mawqif’, to streamline and enhance public parking management as part of its broader digital transformation strategy. Available on major app stores, the application provides users with round-the-clock access to a variety of parking services including instant permit issuance, payment of parking fees, seasonal subscription renewals, and real-time information on available parking spaces. It also facilitates the payment of fines and fees for smart parking lots through digital platforms like Apple Pay and Samsung Pay.
