Sharjah24: The activities of the 1st Padel Tennis Tournament for Government Departments in Sharjah were concluded on Sunday, organised by the Sharjah Government Employees Club in cooperation with the Police Club Stadium and under the supervision of the Sharjah Council, with the participation of 35 teams representing institutions, agencies and government departments in Sharjah.
The team of the Sharjah Airport International Free Zone Authority (SAIF) won first place, and Sharjah Police General Command’s team came in the second place , followed by the team of the Environment and Protected Areas Authority. Whilst Sharjah Police Academy’s team came fourth.
At the conclusion of the competitions, Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, accompanied by Dr. Tariq Sultan bin Khadim, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Sharjah Government Employees Club, and Adviser Hamid Ali Alabbar, Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Sharjah Government Employees Club, crowned the first-place winners.
Commenting on this, Dr. Tariq Sultan bin Khadim confirmed that these activities come from the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
He appreciated the great role of the Sharjah Police Officers Club in hosting and organising the championship on its stadiums, stressing that the next stage will witness more cooperation between the two clubs to provide the best for Sharjah government employees.
Adviser Hamid Ali Alabbar praised the success achieved by the tournament in its first edition.
