First Government entities' padel tournament kicks off

Sharjah 24: The first padel tennis tournament for government departments kicked off on Thursday, April 6. Sharjah Government Employees Club is in charge of the tournament, cooperating with the Sharjah Police Officers Club under the Sharjah Sports Council’s supervision.
Seventy players representing 15 government departments, authorities and institutions in Sharjah take part in the tournament, which saw the presence of Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, Dr. Tariq Sultan bin Khadim, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Sharjah Government Employees Club, and representatives of government agencies participating in the tournament.

Speaking at the opening, Major General Saif Al-Zari Al Shamsi appreciated the efforts of the Executive Committee of the Sharjah Government Employees Club in organising such a tournament and the great success it achieved with the participation of this number of teams, indicating that the Sharjah Government Employees Club is considered a civilised destination for the smiling Emirate because of its lofty goals in spreading sports in all Sectors in society, pointing out that the Sharjah Officers Club, with its various logistical services and playgrounds, seeks to participate in all sports and community activities with the aim of spreading sports in the sporting community of the smiling Emirate.

Dr. Tariq Sultan bin Khadim confirmed that the activities organised by the Sharjah Employees Club, including the padel tennis competitions for the first time, stem from the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and the generous follow-up of Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council, aiming to provide services to all Sharjah government employees, emphasising the great success and good reputation enjoyed by Sharjah employees championships, which bring together Sharjah employees through sports competitions in a fraternal atmosphere that increases rapprochement and communication among employees. It also aims to spread and encourage the practice of community sports among all members of society.
