Engineer Abdullah Al Tunaiji, Director of Branches at the Sharjah Department of Public Works, said, "When His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, ordered the building of 66 nurseries in all parts of the Emirate of Sharjah to care for the children of female employees in schools and government institutions, a permanent committee for the requirements of the nurseries was set up and construction started directly."
Eng Bashayir Al-Mansouri, who is in charge of the Kalba Branch, said that the department had finished building the Nahwa Model Nursery in Khor Fakkan and had furnished it at a cost of about DH 2,100,000.The nursery area is 232 square metres, while the land area is 340 square metres, accommodating 40 children.
Al Quoz, Al Hamriyah, and Al Suyoh each have a nursery under construction, while the department has another three nurseries in the engineering design phase.
