Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Directorate of Public Works joined nations across the globe in marking the "International Day of Happiness" the day before yesterday, and this year's festivities occurred after the department achieved significant progress in happiness indicators.
As part of its efforts to make customers and employees happy and spread positivity in the workplace, the Public Works Department sponsored a number of unique events and initiatives on the International Day of Happiness.
The Director of the Department's Institutional Communication Centre, Maryam Al-Mazmi confirmed that the country's advanced results in happiness indicators are a real result of the wise leadership's clear vision, which put building the human being and achieving his well-being at the top of its list of priorities until happiness became a strategic approach embodied by our country's government agenda and forward-looking plans that focus on change.
"We live in the country of happiness, and our government works hard to make its people happy in many ways. The UAE came in first place in the Arab world on the happiness index," she said. Moreover, our leadership was able to instill happiness as a way of life and a culture in her children."
