Sharjah24: Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, opened Wednesday evening, the activities of the 20th Sharjah Heritage Days (SHD), under the slogan "Heritage and Creativity", in the Heritage Square area in the Heart of Sharjah, which is organised by the Sharjah Institute for Heritage (SIH) in 11 cities in the Emirate of Sharjah, from 1st to 21st March, with the participation of 42 Arab and foreign countries and 40 government entities.
His Highness was received upon his arrival by an Emirati popular cultural performance played by Al-Ayyala, in addition to several other cultural performances.


Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi was received by Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Ports, Customs and Free Zones Authority, Sheikh Salem bin Abdulrahman Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Ruler's Office, Sheikh Fahim bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Government Relations, Sheikh Majid bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Director of the Department of Suburbs and Villages Affairs, a number of senior officials, heads and directors of federal and local government agencies, officials of international and regional organisations concerned with heritage and culture, official guests participating in the event, and a group of experts and those interested in heritage affairs.


Then Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi toured the various parts of the Heritage Square in the Heart of Sharjah, including different activities that target various community members, where he listened to an explanation about the nature of the participations and the list of participating entities from inside and outside the country. Sheikh Abdullah also stopped in front of a number of participating pavilions, promoting the values of originality and pride in heritage and identity.


While touring the area, Sheikh Abdullah was briefed on the five major exhibitions taking place in the current session


During the current edition, a group of government agencies and institutions participate in the event, that hosts many Arab, Islamic and international organisations and institutes.

The festival provides the public with the opportunity to enjoy watching several popular performances and musical arts.
