Sharjah24: The Breastfeeding Friends, part of the Health Education Department of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah, honored several new mothers who gave birth from 2020 to 2022, in appreciation of their role in providing proper care and healthy nutrition to their children.
The three winners of the photography, graphic and video design competition for 2022 were also honoured, as the best posts that fit the association's orientations and goals.
The association organized the honoring ceremony under the title "Mabruk Ma Yakum" at the Supreme Council for Family Affairs Theater in the presence of Eng. Khawla Abdulaziz Al Noman, President of the Breastfeeding Friends, and a crowd of honoured mothers and their children.
A video of Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Honorary President of the Breastfeeding Friends, was shown during the ceremony evening. The video discusses supporting breastfeeding mothers to ensure the child's and mother's health, help working mothers balance their work and family lives, and give them psychological stability.
Al Noman stressed that the ceremony comes intending to support mothers to assume responsibility, enabling them to build a healthy generation that would contribute to the advancement of society in all fields, translating the wise directives of the wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah.
