Sharjah 24: Engineer Khawla Al Noman, Head of Breastfeeding Friends, one of the health-supporting associations affiliated with the Health Promotion Department of Sharjah Supreme Council for Family Affairs (SCFA), revealed that members of the “Breastfeeding Guides” specialised programme, reviewed their projects and took the required exams to obtain a breastfeeding guide certificate.
The “Breastfeeding Guides” programme was launched recently by the association to address breastfeeding and infant feeding, in Arabic and English. 20 new members joined the programme.
Al Noman added that 20 new female members joined the programme, whereas 12 are of Arab nationalities and 8 are of foreign nationalities, stressing that all projects presented are innovative and distinctive.
She affirmed that the association will work to adopt some projects while it will work to innovate and develop the remaining projects through Breastfeeding Friends programmes and recommendations within all institutions.
Al Noman expressed Breastfeeding Friends pride in the new members and candidates for pioneering volunteer missions.
She also praised the role they will play after graduating from the programme, as they will become ambassadors for the association, which will contribute significantly to achieving its desired goals of spreading the culture of breastfeeding in society, and providing advice and guidance to mothers for the benefit of the health of their children and the safety of their community, in fulfilment of the visions and directives of the wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah, in strengthening Sharjah’s position as a healthy and friendly city for children and adolescents, as well as the rest of the UAE to achieve a healthy and happy society.
