Sharjah24: In a commendable initiative, Sharjah Media City (Shams) partnered with Friends of Cancer Patients to provide free health screenings for its employees and the Shams community, coinciding with the global observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The initiative, implemented via the Pink Caravan's mobile clinic, seeks to enhance awareness among all citizens and residents of the UAE, irrespective of age, regarding breast cancer and the critical nature of early detection.
Shams highlighted its commitment to employee well-being as part of its social responsibility, recognising their crucial role in maintaining healthy work practices. The event promoted a balanced, healthy lifestyle, featuring informative sessions and awareness workshops for female employees. These workshops emphasised the importance of early breast cancer screenings, provided guidance on conducting monthly self-exams at home, and outlined warning signs that warrant medical attention.
Shams understood the valuable contributions of Friends of Cancer Patients in initiating the "Pink October" campaign, which includes a detailed schedule of activities via its Pink Caravan initiative for the entire month of October.
