Sharjah 24: After encouraging young boys and girls to memorise portions from the Holy Qur'an throughout Ramadan, the Khaldiya Suburb Council (KSC) of the Department of Suburbs and Villages Affairs (DSVA) has concluded its annual competition, "Quranic Recitation."
Now in its sixth year, the award has inspired 52 children and teenagers from Khalidiya to take Holy Quran memorisation classes and compete in the various categories.
Khaldiya Suburb Council, "Manar Al-Sabil Centre" for the Memorization of the Holy Quran, and Al-Ghanim Real Estate hosted a ceremony last night to recognise the winners and participants of the competition.
The winners of the three competition categories were honoured, along with all participants and three parents of the winning students, by Khalfan Saeed Al-Marri, Chairman of the Khalidiya District Council; Mohammed Rashid bin Jarash, Vice-President of the Council; and Saeed Ghanem Al-Suwaidi, CEO of Al-Ghanim Real Estate Company.
