Dr. Abdullah Al Ketbi, Director of the Maliha branch, confirmed that the services provided by the branch completes the services of the Department of Social Services in Sharjah, pointing out that urgent intervention is carried out to ensure that families enjoy a dignified and safe life, as the field team undertakes to deliver urgent assistance within a record time, after confirming the case and its eligibility for assistance.
He pointed out that social assistance is provided to various groups, including low-income and non-income people, senior citizens who need home care, and some groups that need urgent intervention, in addition to supporting productive families, nominating them and looking for opportunities to support them and promote their products through exhibitions in cooperation with other government institutions.
The branch was also able to provide supportive initiatives for social assistance beneficiaries, which consisted of rehabilitation and training, and "Al-Bashama" cards issued by the Sharjah Cooperative Society, in addition to the "Sanad Banking Card" and other community initiatives during occasions such as the Ramadan mir, the joy of Eid or the International Day of the Elderly.
The branch works to achieve the department’s vision towards providing protection for vulnerable and marginalized groups who lack social care, including children, the elderly, people with disabilities and abused women, and protecting them from the risks.
The community service services in the Maliha branch are represented in voluntary services and social education, where the department concerned with volunteering and social responsibility in accordance with the general or specialized volunteering system, organizing it and spreading its culture among the community members and institutions.
The branch’s Social Education Department also offers a range of social, family, preventive and developmental educational programs, in addition to awareness programs aimed at the stability of the family and society, by providing lectures and educational workshops in order to inculcate noble moral values, prevention and protection, purposeful awareness and educational programs.
