Sharjah 24: Maryam Saeed Al Muhairi, Director of the Knowledge Office at the Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD), revealed that the Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD) has launched a new awareness campaign focused on child safety and family awareness across Sharjah.

The initiative, titled “Yaqdha” (Vigilance), was announced during a meeting of the Muwaileh Suburb Council. The campaign will run throughout July across all suburb councils in the emirate.

The programme targets children aged six to 12, along with their parents, and seeks to raise awareness of prevention measures and reduce risks linked to drowning incidents, as well as issues of neglect and abuse.

Promoting responsible supervision

Speaking to "Sharjah 24", Al Muhairi said the campaign aims to reinforce the concept of responsible supervision within families.

She stated that the initiative aims to enhance awareness and foster safer home and community environments.

Workshops and awareness activities

The campaign will include interactive workshops and awareness sessions at suburb councils across Sharjah, alongside educational videos and digital content shared through the department’s social media platforms.

The materials will focus on practical safety guidance for families, including how to respond to risks and prevent accidents.

Encouraging public participation

Al Muhairi encouraged parents and members of the public to attend sessions and take part in workshops, pointing out that the programme offers practical knowledge designed for everyday family life.
