Alia Al Zaabi, Director of the Social Aid Department, said that the aid provided is one of the services concerned with supporting low-income families, bringing them to a decent standard of living.
Three hundred forty-two families that required urgent assistance were urgently dealt with to ensure that they enjoy a dignified and safe life.
Al Zaabi stated that the department was able to update the data of 7,319 beneficiaries out of 9,938 beneficiaries, as the update is electronically linked with the concerned government entities, which contributed to determining the entitlement and value of assistance without making any errors that might negatively affect access to accurate data.
She added that the department was able to provide support initiatives for the beneficiaries, which consisted of training programmes through the "Tamkeen" initiative to provide jobs with temporary contracts, "Al Bashama" cards issued by the Sharjah Cooperative Society, "Fazaa" card, as well as the "Wafer" card in cooperation with Sharjah Human Resources Directorate;in addition to the "Sanad” banking card and the "Housing Improvement" initiative for needy families.
