Developed in collaboration between the department’s Al Madam branch and the Al Madam Cultural and Sports Club, the initiative aims to integrate children with autism spectrum disorder into the club’s activities, providing a safe, supportive environment that enhances their social skills, confidence and overall quality of life.
Before the programme’s launch, the Al Madam branch organised an awareness lecture for the club’s employees and coaches to improve understanding of autism spectrum disorder and equip staff with the skills to interact positively with children of determination.
The initiative featured a series of sports and recreational activities for beneficiaries of the department’s autism services, supported by officials from Al Madam Cultural and Sports Club.
Sharjah Social Services Department plans to expand the initiative across its branches and sports clubs throughout the emirate, reinforcing its commitment to empowering people of determination through effective community partnerships and to fostering a culture of inclusion and active participation.
