Sharjah 24: Sharjah Documentation and Archives Authority (SDAA) organised a workshop for students of Al Qasimia University (AQU) in Sharjah entitled “The Importance of Oral History.”
Safia bin Jerash, presented the workshop, as part of the SDAA's endeavours to spread culture and awareness regarding the recording and documentation of the history of the Emirate of Sharjah and to give a clear picture of its events and the pattern of its local community through oral narratives.
The workshop began by defining the nature of oral history that monitors events and narrates the lifestyle in the past and the mechanism of unpacking these narratives to make them available to researchers and those interested in history.
The workshop witnessed student interaction, during which the participants discussed a number of ideas and questions.
