The campaign was able to deliver its awareness messages to a wide segment of society by organising several awareness workshops given by doctors and healthcare specialists.
The campaign witnessed several workshops for the nursing staff in nursing homes to enhance their efficiency in dealing with diabetes patients and the launching of a recreational camp for children to raise awareness of diabetes and prepare them for emergency cases.
Khawla Al Haj, Chairperson of the FDA, indicated that the participation of community members in the campaign reflects its success in achieving its main objectives of raising health awareness of diabetes, the dangers of the disease, and how to prevent it.
She noted that the successes of the campaign over the past years would be possible had it not been for the wise visions, directives, and care of Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, President of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah.
Al Hajj stressed that the association was keen to achieve diversity in the activities of the campaign to target all segments of society and enhance its awareness objectives to include several health issues related to diabetes.
She expressed her gratitude towards all the sponsors and partners from the government and private sectors for their constant cooperation.
