Al Qasimia University exerted efforts throughout the previous period to develop its advanced programmes at the Language Centre to teach and graduate a distinguished group of students able to speak and write English.
The MoU will develop educational and cultural cooperation between Al Qasimia University and the British Council to realise a range of educational activities.
The British Council, represented by Deep Adhikari, Exams Manager, signed a memorandum of understanding with Al Qasimia University, represented by Prof. Awad Hussain Al Khalaf, Acting Director of Al Qasimia University.
The memorandum of understanding will also organise cultural or educational events at Al Qasimia University, including seminars, international meetings, educational exhibitions, conferences and workshops. The MoU will also work to support the professional development of teachers and staff, and support learning in the faculties of Al Qasimia University
The agreement will enhance cooperation in the Arabic proficiency tests for non-native speakers, as is the case with the TOEFL and IELTS tests.
Prof. Awad Hussain Al Khalaf, Acting Director of Al Qasimia University confirmed that the University is proceeding according to the visions of the founder, His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah and president of Al Qasimia University, to be one of the most prestigious universities, pointing out that the accreditation of the University’s Language Centre completes the strategic plans enhancing the university’s academic fields.
Deep Adhikari indicated that the Council is keen to communicate with Al Qasimia University, to learn about its programmes, and to grant accreditation to the Language Centre, in light of its great success and adoption of the finest teaching methods providing advanced programmes to all the Centre's affiliates to master the English language.
Adhikari concluded that the Council is honoured to cooperate with Al Qasimia University in Sharjah to provide access to the world’s leading IELTS English language test, whether for university students or for society members, and to organise joint educational events and programmes.
