The Secretary-General of the Quran Academy, Sheikh Sherzad Abdul Rahman Taher said that the Quran Academy's holdings are currently being inspected by the Islamic Manuscripts House and subjected to periodic careful treatment to ensure the utmost care and preservation, especially since some of these parchments date back to the first (second, third, and fourth) Hijri c.
"The Manuscript House contains specialised laboratories staffed by qualified experts who use the latest technologies for sterilisation, restoration and processing of manuscripts and documents," explained Saeed Al Madawi, supervisor of Islamic Manuscripts House at Al Qasimia University (AQU).
His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, keeps a close eye on the rare manuscripts and parchments in the Quran Academy and Islamic Manuscripts House.
The majority of these rare historical manuscripts came from His Highness's personal collection, which he donated to the Holy Qur'an Academy and the House of Manuscripts.
