Sharjah 24: In the first half of 2024, the Sharjah Electricity, Water, and Gas Authority (SEWA) completed the extension of over 181,000 meters of electrical cables to enhance the efficiency of the low and medium voltage networks. This work included modifications at over 306 sites and the connection of more than 1,800 projects.
This achievement is part of the Authority's strategic plan to improve the infrastructure of electrical networks in Sharjah, enhance their efficiency and reliability, and meet the growing demand for electrical energy due to continuous development in the Emirate. These efforts aim to ensure the continuity of services provided to customers.

Engineer Ahmed Al Bass, Deputy Director of the Electricity Distribution Department stated that the Authority places great importance on developing networks and continuing comprehensive development across all areas. This aligns with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to provide high-quality infrastructure and to develop and enhance the efficiency of electricity distribution networks to meet the evolving energy needs and achieve sustainable development.

He added that network modification projects have been implemented in line with the Authority's goals to enhance and develop the electrical network to meet customer needs and ensure the provision of safe and reliable services to the community. This project is a significant achievement in improving the efficiency of the electrical network, enhancing performance levels, and ensuring stability and continuity of power supply according to quality standards.
