Research in partnership with SEDD

The programme brought students together with the department's economic advisor to work on a series of research projects over two months. It forms part of an ongoing collaboration between SEDD and the University of Sharjah aimed at linking academic knowledge with practical applications in the economic field – work the department says feeds into Sharjah's sustainable development goals, supports applied research that strengthens the business environment, and boosts the competitiveness of the local economy.

Student tackle real development challenges

Supervised by Dr Amr Saleh, SEDD's economic advisor, the programme culminated in students presenting a range of innovative development projects reflecting what they had learnt during the training. The projects covered ground from improving the business environment and raising service efficiency to proposing practical solutions for various development challenges.

A platform for young talent

SEDD described the programme as an important platform for identifying young talent and sharpening their skills, praising the students' efforts and commitment and highlighting the value of its partnership with the University of Sharjah in advancing applied education and preparing students to enter the job market with confidence.

The department added that honouring the participating students was recognition of their dedication and sustained effort in developing their academic abilities – skills it said will serve them well as they head into the economic job market in the future.
