Sharjah 24: Khorfakkan Municipality concluded its three-week Future Generations programme, which saw the participation of 40 children aged 9 to 12. The programme aimed to utilise the children's summer vacation time, introduce them to the work of the municipality's various departments, and develop their skills.

3-week programme

Zainab Karam Mohammed, General Supervisor of the Future Generations programme at Khorfakkan Municipality, explained that the first week focused on the Technical Department, the second on the Health Department, and the final week on the Agriculture, Parks, and Gardens Department, giving the children the opportunity to learn about the work of each department firsthand.

Educational and practical workshops

Speaking exclusively to Sharjah 24, Zainab Karam added that during the Agriculture Week, the municipality offered several educational and practical workshops designed to introduce participants to the fundamentals of agriculture and its importance, and to enhance their environmental awareness through interactive activities and hands-on applications.

Zainab Karam called on parents to encourage their children to participate in summer programmes, as they play an important role in developing their skills, investing their free time, and enhancing their knowledge in various fields.
