The evening was presented by Aya Imam, who said in her introduction: "We extend to you the warmest welcome, in the realm of poetry, where words flourish, poems shine, and souls meet in love of literature and beauty. At the outset of this evening, we would like to express our sincere thanks and deep gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for his continuous support of culture and literature, and for his generous patronage of poetry and poets, until Sharjah has become a beacon of knowledge and culture."
The readings were opened by the poet Muhammad Ahmu al-Ahmadi, who began his reading with a poem in praise of the Prophet entitled "A Journey to the Biography of the Chosen One."
In a poem entitled "A Wave from the Domes of Samarkand," he presented a selection of poems that were distinguished by the richness of language, the smoothness of rhythm, and the diversity of themes.
The poet Serigne Fadl Ndiaye, a student of Arabic at Al Qasimia University, followed, and he also began his participation with a poem in praise of the Prophet.
In a second poem entitled "Stranger on the Gulf," which is the same title as a poem by the Iraqi poet Badr Shakir al-Sayyab, the poet Sirin expressed the hardships of exile in his own unique way.
In his poem "Question Mark," the readings concluded with the poet Suleiman Al-Ibrahim, who presented a selection of personal, emotional poems that engage with reality through metaphorical language and a style characterised by delicate imagery and gentle rhythm.
In conclusion, the poet Mohammed Al-Buraiki honoured the participating poets and the presenter of the evening.
