Poetry event explores themes of reflection, life at Poetry House

Sharjah24: The Poetry House in Sharjah organised a poetry evening on Tuesday, featuring poets Ali Abdul Majeed Al Nimer from Saudi Arabia, Mohamed Rabie Hamad from Egypt, Afnan Al Muradi from Malaysia and Manyar Al Issa from Syria. The event was attended by poet Mohamed Abdullah Al Breiki, Director of the House of Poetry, along with a large audience of critics, poets, poetry enthusiasts and students from Al Qasimia University in Sharjah.
The evening was presented by Dr Ahmed Saad El Din, who highlighted the continued support of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for culture, literature and the arts, noting that Sharjah has become a leading Arab model in supporting creativity and preserving cultural identity.

The participating poets presented a selection of poems exploring themes including reflection, philosophy, emotion, identity, longing, homeland, love, separation and belonging, showcasing a variety of poetic styles and expressive language.

Afnan Al Muradi, a student at Al Qasimia University in Sharjah, presented poems inspired by her surroundings and personal reflections, while Manyar Al Issa concluded the readings with poems characterised by emotional depth, focusing on themes of homeland, maternal love, loss and identity.

At the end of the evening, Mohamed Abdullah Al Breiki honoured the participating poets and the event presenter in recognition of their contributions.
