Sharjah 24: The first week of Sharjah’s summer sports programme, “A Holiday Reimagined 2026,” kicked off at the Sharjah Classic Car Club.

Developing high-quality programmes according to best practices

Organised in cooperation with the Sharjah Sports Council (SSC), the programme is part of a corporate vision stemming from the club’s board of directors’ directives. This vision aims to develop high-quality programmes according to best practices, leveraging the results of previous editions and benchmarking to set new objectives that contribute to improving the quality of outcomes, enhancing operational readiness, establishing the highest safety standards, and providing a comprehensive educational and recreational environment that enriches the lives of children and youth, developing their skills and expanding their knowledge.

The programme embodies the club's commitment to investing in building a conscious and creative generation through an integrated system of educational and practical activities and workshops that combine knowledge and entertainment. It introduces participants to the history of classic cars and their cultural and heritage value, while also developing personal and social skills and fostering the values of cooperation, innovation, and teamwork in a safe and stimulating environment that caters to the needs of all participating age groups.

In preparing this year's programme, the club adopted a continuous development methodology based on studying the results of previous editions, analysing performance indicators, and incorporating feedback from parents and participants. It also involved benchmarking against several leading summer programmes to enhance the content and activities, improve the quality of services offered, and meet the community's aspirations while achieving the club's goals of providing a more distinctive and impactful summer experience.

Organising specialised workshops

In preparation for the programme's launch, the club implemented a comprehensive readiness plan that included training staff and volunteers, and organising specialised workshops in collaboration with relevant authorities. These workshops covered safety and evacuation procedures, mechanisms for interacting with children and adolescents, and an introduction to emergency plans and internal organisation. This ensures a safe environment that meets the highest safety and quality standards and enhances the preparedness of staff throughout the programme's duration.

Ahmed Saif bin Hanzal, Director of the Sharjah Classic Cars Museum, said: "The turnout we witnessed this year exceeded the targeted capacity, which is a clear indicator of the programme's success in establishing its presence year after year. It reflects parents' confidence in the Sharjah Classic Cars Club's high-quality programmes and events that combine education and entertainment, providing a safe and stimulating environment for their children. This trust represents a great responsibility that motivates us to continue developing and innovating, and to enhance the program's content and activities to meet the community's aspirations and the needs of its members."

Developing children and youth intellectual, creative, and motor skills

Ahmed Saif bin Hanzal noted that the club strives to build upon past successes in each edition, leveraging accumulated experience and developmental feedback to ensure a fresh experience every year. He added that the programme focuses on skills development, fostering initiative, and instilling values of cooperation and belonging, while also introducing participants to the cultural heritage associated with classic cars through modern and interactive methods.

The programme also includes a diverse range of interactive workshops and educational and recreational activities designed to appeal to children and young people, contributing to the development of their intellectual, creative, and motor skills. Furthermore, it introduces them to the world of classic cars and their historical and cultural significance through hands-on experiences, practical activities, competitions, and interactive events that promote experiential learning and achieve a balance between enjoyment and learning.

Developing community initiatives

Through this programme, the club affirms its commitment to continuing to develop its community initiatives, in line with its mission to spread the culture associated with classic cars, and to strengthen the connection of new generations with heritage, in addition to contributing to investing summer vacation time in quality activities that contribute to refining character, developing skills, and instilling positive values in members.
