Modern Skills with an Emirati Spirit

The lab is taking place at five of its centres across the Emirate of Sharjah: Wasit Youth, Khorfakkan Youth, Kalba Youth, Dibba Al Hisn Youth, and Al Dhaid Youth, with the latter operating as a central region centre.

Running throughout July under the theme "Modern Skills with an Emirati Spirit," the summer programme combines learning, application, and creativity, providing members with a free space to discover their abilities, develop their skills, and transform their passions into practical experiences that meet future demands. This is all within a stimulating environment that fosters innovation and reinforces national identity values.

Artificial Intelligence lab

Participants gained a comprehensive experience in the Artificial Intelligence Lab through the "Create Your 3D Story" programme, where they learned how to produce digital cinematic scenes with a 3D visual perspective, from concept to the creation of innovative content.

Formation lab

In the "Formation" Lab, participants explored the aesthetics of handicrafts through the "Macrame Art" programme, mastering the skills of tying threads using basic knots and transforming them into artworks bearing their creative signature. This fostered precision, focus, and innovation, while reintroducing visual arts in a contemporary style that resonates with young people. In the same lab, Emirati identity was embodied in artworks created by participants themselves, inspired by the beauty of prominent national heritage landmarks in the "Teacher and Potter" programme. Here, they learned the skills of crafting scented candles in ceramic vessels using clay molding techniques.

Crafts and Professions" lab

Within the "Crafts and Professions" lab, the "Iron Art" programme offered a practical experience that allowed participants to utilise recycled iron materials and repurpose them with a contemporary flair. Using hammering and welding, they transformed these materials into innovative art pieces and home décor items, combining creativity and sustainability and reinforcing the concepts of recycling.

Theatre and Performing Arts lab

In another part of the lab, the journey continued on stage in the "Theatre and Performing Arts" lab. There, participants in the "Scene Construction" program acquired skills in transforming a text into a vibrant, dynamic, and creative scene. This experience profoundly impacted their personal development, enhanced their presence and self-confidence, and provided them with new tools for communication and influence.

Islamic Arts lab

In the "Islamic Arts" lab, participants produced a collection of creative works inspired by Islamic art. Such works, combined precision and creativity, were showcased in the "Geometric Ornamentation" programme, which focused on a triangular grid system to explore the world of recurring patterns and geometric motifs.

The Skills Lab reflects Sharjah Youth’s commitment to preparing a generation that not only acquires skills but also uses them to make an impact, through an integrated educational environment where passion is transformed into practice, ideas into promising projects, and modern technologies into tools for creativity and production. The lab also reinforces the connection of its members to the Emirati identity, to present a pioneering national model that combines the authenticity of values with the modernity of skills, and embodies its slogan on the ground: “Modern skills with an Emirati spirit.”
