Sharjah 24: The organising committee of the 12th edition of the Sharjah Summer Sports Programme, “A Holiday Reimagined,” chaired by Bakheet Saeed Al Qars, has completed all preparations for the programme, which is organised annually by the Sharjah Sports Council.

This year’s edition will feature a range of new activities and events introduced in response to participants’ suggestions, in addition to a special competition to select the best new members. Ahead of the programme’s launch at the end of this month, the committee will conduct field visits to participating clubs to review final arrangements.

Cultivating youth talent and community engagement

Bakheet Saeed Al Qars said the organising committee was keen to further develop the programme in line with the interests and aspirations of participants. He noted that the programme will run for four weeks, with additional details to be announced during an upcoming press conference. He added that the success of previous editions has been a key driver behind the programme’s continued growth and development, highlighting its role as one of the Sharjah Sports Council’s leading community initiatives aimed at investing in young people and enriching their summer break.

Collaborative planning and feedback integration

As part of the preparation process, the committee held a series of internal meetings and brainstorming sessions with representatives of participating clubs. A survey was also conducted to gather feedback and suggestions, which were analysed and used to develop the programme’s overall framework before moving to the implementation and coordination phase with clubs.

Organising committee structure and leadership

The organising committee is chaired by Bakheet Saeed Al Qars, Director of the Sports and Community Events Department, while Ahmed Ali Al Salman serves as General Supervisor of the programme. The supervision and follow-up committee is headed by Tariq Abdul Qader, with Abdul Rahman Salah Bu Khater and Mohammed Hamid Bin Darwish as members, alongside Mohammed Salah Munir who serves as a member and rapporteur.

Additionally, the evaluation committee is chaired by Fawaghi Farid Al Fardan, with Al Anoud Saeed Al Harthi and Hani Mohammed Al Qasim as members, while the media and marketing committee is chaired by Safia Saleh Al Zarouni, with Bashir Saleh Al Ali and Abdul Haq Mansour as members.
