Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Old Car Club (SOCC) has announced the launch of its interactive summer programme, “A Holiday Reimagined,” for children and youth in collaboration with the Sharjah Sports Council and a number of government and private-sector entities.

The club has invited parents to register their children to take part in a variety of activities and workshops that combine learning, entertainment, skills development, and talent discovery.

The programme will be held at the Sharjah Old Car Club and its museum from 6 to 30 July 2026. It targets children aged 7–12 and youth aged 13–17, offering an interactive educational environment designed to make the most of the summer break while enhancing participants’ knowledge and abilities across various fields.

Investing in summer holidays to build skills

The programme aims to develop participants’ skills and strengthen values of belonging, responsibility, and innovation through a range of educational and recreational workshops and activities delivered in partnership with leading government, community, and cultural institutions. These initiatives are designed to enrich the experiences of children and youth while developing their personal and social skills.

Dr Mohammed Al Hajri: A stimulating environment that combines learning and enjoyment

His Excellency Dr Mohammed bin Butti Al Hajri, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of SOCC, said the summer programme reflects the club’s commitment to providing a stimulating environment that combines knowledge and enjoyment, helping to develop the skills of younger generations while strengthening their connection to national identity and community values.

He added: “We believe in the importance of investing children’s and young people’s time during the summer holiday in meaningful activities that contribute to building their personalities and developing their life and cognitive skills. Therefore, we have designed a comprehensive programme that combines cultural, technical, social, and sporting elements in partnership with leading institutions, providing participants with rich and enjoyable educational experiences that prepare them for the future.”

Four diverse weekly themes

The programme features four main themes spread across consecutive weeks. The first week, titled “The Family,” focuses on the role of the family in building society and reinforcing values and national identity through workshops and interactive activities.

The second week is dedicated to “Artificial Intelligence,” introducing participants to the latest digital technologies and AI applications through practical workshops and interactive experiences aimed at fostering innovation and future-focused thinking.

The third week, “Sharjah,” highlights the emirate’s history, cultural heritage, and key landmarks through activities, visits, and workshops that strengthen participants’ connection to their heritage and identity.

The programme concludes with the fourth week, “Sports and Wellness,” which promotes healthy lifestyles, physical fitness, and proper nutrition through sports and awareness activities that encourage balanced and active living.

Partnerships enrich programme content

The programme is being delivered in collaboration with several government and private entities, including the Child Safety Department, the Department of Social Services, the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, the Emirates Creativity Association, Sharjah Police General Headquarters, the Social Empowerment Foundation, and the Livestock and Agriculture Authority.

Private-sector partners include the Arabian Gulf Mechanical Centre (AGMC), the exclusive importer and authorised distributor of BMW Group vehicles in Dubai, Sharjah, and the Northern Emirates, as well as Al Tayer Motors. These partnerships contribute to enriching the programme with diverse educational content and interactive experiences that combine learning, entertainment, and skills development.

Parents can register their children to benefit from the programme’s wide range of activities and workshops throughout the summer period.
