Sharjah24: The Districts Affairs Department (DAD) held its second annual council heads' meeting of 2026 at Sharjah Safari in Al Dhaid, convening representatives from 18 district councils across the emirate.
The meeting was chaired by Sheikh Majid bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Districts Affairs Department, alongside the Department Director, Dr Abdullah Suleiman Al Kaboori, and the presidents and representatives of the 18 councils.
Delegates conducted a wide-ranging review of the councils’ outputs over the preceding period, assessing their role in identifying residents’ needs and in strengthening community cohesion. Plans to sustain the councils’ social mission were also presented, with the councils described as a vital link between government and the public.
