The competition attracted 122 male and female participants from Al Khalidiyah community, reflecting the Holy Quran’s esteemed place in society and families’ commitment to instilling its values and teachings in younger generations.
The awards ceremony was attended by Khalfan Saeed Al Marri, Chairman of the Al Khalidiyah District Council; Mohammed Rashid Bin Jarash, Vice Chairman of the Council; council members Thani Hazeem Al Suwaidi and Mohammed Hamad Al Sari; and Saeed Ghanem Al Suwaidi, the event sponsor’s representative. Council staff, parents, and District residents also attended, joining in to celebrate their children’s achievements and success.
Al Khalidiyah District Council affirmed that the competition is part of its community vision to strengthen Islamic values and deepen young people’s connection with the Holy Quran. By organising the competition annually, the council encourages boys and girls to memorise selected portions of the Quran, including Juz Amma, Juz Tabarak, and portions of Surah Yaseen, in accordance with proper Tajweed rules, helping to raise a generation committed to the Holy Quran’s teachings, meanings, and values.
The 10th edition of the competition also introduced a new initiative, “Muadhin Al Dhahiyah” (Districts Muezzin), the council’s first programme of its kind. The initiative aims to discover and nurture talented young callers to prayer, develop their abilities, and encourage them to perform this important Islamic practice. It also seeks to strengthen the council’s presence among younger generations and deepen their connection to mosques and their role within the community.
During the ceremony, Khalfan Saeed Al Marri honoured the winners in the various competition categories. In the Boys’ Category – Branch One, Obaid Ali Obaid Al Qassab Al Muhairi won first place, Zayed Mohammed Ahmed Bin Desmal Al Mazrouei secured second place, and Matar Abdullah Matar Saeed Al Suwaidi came third.
In Branch Two, Khalifa Mohammed Rashid Khamis Al Suwaidi claimed first place, with Rashid Mohammed Rashid Khamis Al Suwaidi finishing second.
In Branch Three, Ahmed Issa Khalifa Bin Desmal Al Mazrouei won first place, with Sultan Mohammed Ahmed Bin Desmal Al Mazrouei in second place.
In the “Muadhin Al Dhahiyah” (Districts Muezzin) category, Abdullah Issa Khalifa Bin Desmal Al Mazrouei won first place, Abdulrahman Khalifa Bin Desmal Al Mazrouei secured second place, and Saif Omar Saeed Hatem Al Suwaidi claimed third place.
In the Girls’ Category, Maryam Abdullah Matar Saeed Al Suwaidi won first place in Branch One, and Fatim Issa Bin Desmal Al Mazrouei came second.
In Branch Two, Maryam Mohammed Rashid Khamis Al Suwaidi claimed first place, while Hoor Khalifa Ahmed Bin Desmal Al Mazrouei took second.
In Branch Three, Bashayer Faraj Obaid Faraj Al Suwaidi won first place, with Moza Issa Khalifa Bin Desmal Al Mazrouei in second place.
In Branch Four, dedicated to the Women’s Category, Asma Khalifa Juma Al Suwaidi secured first place, while Fatima Abdulwahid Otaibi finished second.
The recognition ceremony also honoured the supervisors and Quran instructors who played a key role in preparing and mentoring the participants. The honourees included Ahmed Mohammed Hamdi Barakat, Ahmed Abdelhamid Ali, Abdullah Ahmed Karaj, Imad Hamdi Mohammed, and Abdelrahim Wahba.
In addition, female supervisors and instructors Intisar Khaled Ibrahim Hassan, Amira Al Sayed Abdelhamid, Amal Hussein Ahmed Hussein, and Ghada Mousa Qutb were honoured for their dedication and sustained efforts in teaching the Holy Quran and instilling its teachings and values among younger generations.
In a gesture reflecting the council’s appreciation for families’ role in fostering excellence, Al Khalidiyah District Council honoured several parents whose children achieved distinction across multiple competition categories. Those recognised included Mohammed Rashid Khamis Al Suwaidi, whose three children excelled in the competition; Abdullah Matar Saeed Al Suwaidi, whose two children were recognised; Issa Khalifa Bin Desmal Al Mazrouei, whose four children won awards; and Mohammed Ahmed Bin Desmal Al Mazrouei, whose children also achieved outstanding results. The recognition acknowledged their efforts in guiding, encouraging, and nurturing a generation committed to the teachings and values of the Holy Quran.
Khalfan Saeed Al Marri, Chairman of the Al Khalidiyah District Council, stressed that recognition would not be limited to first-place winners but would extend to all participants through cash prizes awarded in appreciation of their efforts and to encourage them to continue memorising, learning, and taking part in future editions of the competition. He noted that the total value of cash prizes awarded to contestants and participants reached AED 131,000, generously provided by the heirs of the late Ghanem Saeed Matar Al Suwaidi, who have continued to support this blessed initiative for the tenth consecutive year.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of a certificate of appreciation to the late Ghanem Saeed Matar Al Suwaidi’s heirs, in recognition of his significant contributions and longstanding support for the “Rattel Qur’aniya” competition and its associated initiatives.
The honour also reflected appreciation for his lifelong commitment to supporting Quranic projects and the sustained patronage he devoted to programmes that have helped raise generations committed to memorising and living by the teachings of the Holy Quran.
Attendees offered prayers for the late benefactor, asking Allah to grant him mercy and forgiveness and to make this blessed contribution a continuing charity (Sadaqah Jariyah) whose rewards and positive impact endure for generations.
