Sharjah 24: Alia Al Musaiebi , Director of The Big Heart Foundation (TBHF), revealed that Konexio Africa, winner of the Sharjah International Award for Refugee Advocacy and Support (SIARA 2025), has trained more than 1,000 beneficiaries in East African countries: Kenya, Uganda, and Malawi.

Keeping pace with the modern world

Alia Al Musaiebi explained that Konexio Africa deservedly won on Wednesday the Sharjah International Award for Refugee Advocacy and Support in its ninth edition. The organisation distinguished itself by providing job and training opportunities for refugees, enabling them to keep pace with the modern world. The organisation is based on four strategic pillars: innovation in digital empowerment, establishing international partnerships, promoting the digital economy, and women's empowerment.

Speaking exclusively to Sharjah 24, Al Musaiebi noted that the organisation has contributed to enhancing digital empowerment by equipping vulnerable communities with the digital skills required in the job market. She added that The Big Heart Foundation looks forward to recognising new success stories each year through this award.

1000 direct and 7000 indirect beneficiaries

The non-profit organisation Konexio Africa was founded in 2016. Since its launch in East Africa in 2019, it has trained more than 1,000 people, with its indirect impact reaching over 7,000 beneficiaries. Globally, more than 8,000 people have benefited from the organisation's various programmes.
