The announcement was made during a press conference at the Al Hefaiyah Mountain Conservation Center. Attendees included key figures such as Issa Hilal Al Hazami from the Sharjah Sports Council, along with other officials, members of the organizing committee, and media representatives.
The event began with a short film showcasing highlights from last year's games, followed by speeches from various leaders. Issa Hilal Al Hazami praised the success of previous games and expressed hope for continued achievements in this year's event. Abdul Malik Jani, another official, emphasized the support of His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem and mentioned that this year’s event will have 5,000 participants, which is a record number. He also thanked the sponsors and supporters for their contributions and shared details about exciting activities planned for the event.
This year’s competition will feature a wide variety of sports. Individual events will include triathlon, road racing, badminton, and archery. For team sports, there will be football, basketball, and volleyball. Water enthusiasts can look forward to marine competitions like sailing, kayaking, and paddleboarding. For gaming fans, there will be electronic sports such as FIFA 25 e-football. There will also be self-defense activities like jiu-jitsu, karate, and wrestling, alongside fitness events like tug-of-war and a steeplechase.
Besides the main sports, the games will also host fun activities for everyone, including wheelchair basketball, callisthenics, arm wrestling, a paragliding competition, a community sea clean-up, a neighbourhood walk, and the second strategic dialogue forum.
