Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Sports Council has opened registration for the latest edition of the Oceanic Khorfakkan Triathlon, which will take place on Sunday, 25 October. The event is organised in collaboration with Oceanic Hotel, the UAE Triathlon Federation, and several supporting sponsors as part of the community events programme, aimed at promoting sports as a lifestyle. The triathlon targets participation from 300 athletes of both genders.
The race features four categories. The Junior category begins at 06:15, including a 150-metre swim, 10 km cycling, and 1.5 km running. The Olympic category starts at 06:30, consisting of a 1.5 km swim, 40 km cycling, and 10 km running. The Sprint category for individuals and teams starts at 06:35, with a 750-metre swim, 20 km cycling, and 5 km running. The Super Sprint category begins at 06:40, including a 350-metre swim, 10 km cycling, and 2.5 km running. Winners of the top three positions in each category will be awarded trophies and gold, silver, and bronze medals.
