Sharjah24: The Sharjah Sports Council organised the sixth edition of the Archery Championship at the Al Madam Cultural and Sports Club, reaffirming its commitment to developing players’ skills and discovering new talent. A total of 69 archers representing eight clubs—Al Madam, Sharjah, Al Hamriyah, Khorfakkan, Al Bataeh, Mleiha, Dibba Al Hisn, and the Amiri Guard—competed in the tournament.

The event was attended by Saeed Matar Al Rashdi, Board Member of Al Madam Club and Archery Supervisor, along with Khalid Gabesh and Samir George from the Council’s Sports Affairs and Development Department, and overseen by Jassim Al Doukhi, Head of Individual Games.

In the Olympic Bow category, the under-12 competition saw Hamdan Mohammed Salem from Al Madam claim first place, followed by his teammate Nasser Saeed in second, while Omar Abdelbaset from Mleiha secured third. In the under-15 group, Al Madam dominated again with Zayed Ahmed taking first and Young Lee second, as Saud Nasser from Al Hamriyah earned third. For the under-18 category, Khalifa Musbah of Al Madam won first place, with Ali Yaqoub from Sharjah coming second and Salem Badr of Al Madam finishing third. In the under-21 division, Maite Seb from Al Madam took top honors, while his clubmate Abdullah Obaid came second, and Indra Gand from Al Hamriyah placed third.

Meanwhile, in the Compound Bow events, Ghaith Ali from Mleiha secured first place in the under-15 group, with Omar Tamer of Al Madam second and Abdulrahman Mohammed from Mleiha third. The under-18 category was won by Nasser Saeed of Al Madam, followed by his teammate Mansour Mohammed in second and Mohammed Kamal of Al Bataeh in third. Finally, in the under-21 competition, Ahmed Eyad of Al Bataeh clinched first place, Mohammed Amr of Sharjah took second, and Mohammed Saleh of Al Madam completed the podium in third.
