Led by Dr Sayed Bakhit, Professor of Journalism and Mass Communication at Zayed University, the workshop targeted communication professionals, equipping them with skills to transform digital data into actionable insights. The session emphasized AI’s role in advancing government communication strategies through smarter, data-backed decision-making.
Dr Bakhit exlained that the workshop was structured around three main themes: Measuring content effectiveness using performance indicators such as reach, engagement, and conversion, and aligning these with organisational goals; sentiment and digital reputation analysis to track audience perceptions and enable proactive communication responses; and practical demonstrations of AI tools for data collection, cleaning, and the creation of real-time dashboards for ongoing performance monitoring.
The workshop also explored the differences between manual and AI-based analysis. While manual analysis is still important for understanding context, AI-powered automation significantly enhances efficiency and precision—as long as expert oversight ensures the correct interpretation of data.
A key part of the session focused on training participants to write effective and detailed instructions for AI applications. Dr Bakhit highlighted best practices in crafting prompts, including defining the objective, target audience, message tone, and success metrics. Common prompt-writing mistakes were discussed, along with strategies to correct them for more reliable outcomes.
