Organised by the Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB) under the theme “Communication for Quality of Life,” the forum featured 237 international speakers who shared expertise through more than 110 sessions. These included 51 panel discussions, seven inspiring talks, 22 practical workshops, and interactive initiatives across 22 platforms aimed at encouraging community engagement and fostering joint initiatives.
Over 30 local, regional, and international partners participated, spanning government bodies, global organisations, research institutions, media, and technology centres. Their involvement highlighted the forum’s role as a collaborative space addressing global challenges and advancing sustainable solutions.
Honouring partners and contributors
His Excellency Tariq Saeed Allay, Director-General of SGMB, together with Her Excellency Alya Bu Ghanem Al Suwaidi, Director of SGMB, recognised the contributions of strategic partners, sponsors, and keynote speakers. Their participation underscored the forum’s collaborative spirit, demonstrating how governments, academia, media, and the private sector can unite to advance human development and enhance quality of life.
Among the honourees were the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU), for organising the University Challenge and various sessions; the Department of Government Relations in Sharjah, for hosting diplomats and facilitating discussions on humanity’s future; Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, for media support and coverage; and Invest Bank, for promoting dialogue and innovation in communication.
Quality of life as a guiding principle
Reflecting on the conclusion of IGCF 2025, His Excellency Tariq Saeed Allay emphasised the forum’s role in strengthening communication as a strategic instrument to navigate global transformations. He stated, “Bringing together such a diverse group of leaders to discuss food security, health, education, the green economy, and sustainability highlights Sharjah’s commitment to making quality of life the guiding principle of policy. This year’s forum demonstrated that communication is not just a media channel but a language of trust, collaboration, and problem-solving for shared human challenges.”
He added, “The 14th edition reaffirmed Sharjah’s dedication to human development and reinforced IGCF’s status as a leading platform for global dialogue and partnerships, inspired by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to use communication as a means of sustainable development and a fairer, more balanced future.”
A global platform for practical impact
The forum concluded with the presentation of the Sharjah Government Communication Award (SGCA) 2025, celebrating innovation and excellence in communication worldwide. The awards underscored the forum’s practical impact, highlighting initiatives with tangible benefits for communities and future-oriented solutions that improve people’s lives.
