Sharjah24: As part of its commitment to strengthening digital culture among its members, Al Dhaid Cultural and Sports Club’s Summer Activity Department hosted an awareness lecture titled "Protect your device from hacking." The event was held under the “I am Athletic” week of the Sharjah Sports Summer – Our Holiday is Different programme, sponsored by the Sharjah Sports Council.
Expert guidance from Sharjah Police
The lecture was delivered yesterday morning at the club by Captain Issa Obaid Al Zaabi from the Central Region Police Department. He focused on the importance of safe and responsible use of electronic devices, especially amid the growing threat of cyber intrusions through apps and games popular with children and youth.

Parental guidance and digital vigilance
Captain Al Zaabi highlighted the dangers of interacting with unknown or random online content and stressed the need to equip young people with the knowledge to counter digital threats. He also underlined the critical role of families in monitoring and guiding children, encouraging them to report any suspicious activity to the relevant authorities.

Interactive session and recognition
The lecture sparked notable engagement, with participants expressing keen interest through questions and discussions, reflecting their growing awareness of cybersecurity. Incentive prizes were awarded to encourage commitment to safe digital practices. The session concluded with Captain Al Zaabi being honoured by HE Salem Mohammed bin Howaiden Al Ketbi, Chairman of Al Dhaid Club, and Mr Mhair Obaid Al Khayyal Al Tunaiji, the club’s Executive Director, in recognition of his valuable contribution to enhancing digital literacy and cyber safety among youth.
