The visit commenced with a tour of the Authority’s museum, where students explored the UAE’s maritime heritage, including the fishing and diving skills of their ancestors. The Authority’s team also presented an overview of current and upcoming fisheries projects, including a comprehensive explanation of the aquaculture model, which is a vital component of food security and environmental sustainability in Sharjah.
The visit included an interactive workshop titled “Fishing,” along with student competitions aimed at reviving maritime heritage and fostering teamwork and collaboration among the youth.
The Authority highlighted that organising these visits supports its objectives to showcase its initiatives and upcoming projects while educating the younger generation on the significance of marine resource sustainability. This underscores its dedication to enhancing partnerships with government institutions, particularly through programs aimed at children and youth aged 10 to 15.
At the end of the visit, commemorative gifts were distributed to the students, concluding the event in a highly engaging and enthusiastic atmosphere.
