This compassionate and swift response reflects Sharjah Police’s dedication to supporting family stability and fulfilling its responsibility in addressing socially and emotionally significant cases.
Brigadier General Dr Ahmed Saeed Al Naour, Director General of the General Department of Community Protection and Prevention, emphasised that this initiative embodies Sharjah Police’s humanitarian and social role in dealing with family-related cases. It also highlights the force’s commitment to supporting various segments of society and contributing to reuniting families and enhancing their stability, in line with its vision of building a cohesive society where individuals enjoy social and emotional security.
Brigadier General Ahmed Mohammed Al Marri, Director of the Department of Community Protection and Prevention, explained that the case originated from a plea received from a young woman residing outside the country. In her message, she expressed a deep desire to connect with her father, whom she had never met since birth due to family circumstances that led to a complete breakdown in communication for more than thirty-five years.
He added: “A dedicated team from the Family and Community Issues Section was formed to follow up on all relevant details. The team coordinated directly with the young woman without requiring any procedures that could hinder the reunion, such as covering the cost of her travel ticket, in order to facilitate her arrival and meeting with her father. The team also ensured that the reception venue was properly prepared, with the presence of social support experts and specialists to provide a safe and supportive environment for both parties.”
Al Marri noted that this reunion stands as a result of the continuous efforts made by Sharjah Police General Command to support family stability and address social issues that carry deep emotional and humanitarian dimensions.
