Sharjah24: The Sharjah Classic Cars Club (SCCC) has announced the launch of its interactive summer programme under the theme ‘Our Holiday is Different’, in collaboration with the Sharjah Sports Council. Parents are invited to register their children, aged between 7 and 17, via an online form. The programme will take place from 30 June to 31 July at the club’s headquarters and its affiliated museum, located near Sharjah International Airport.

Educational and recreational environment

Held over five weeks in a structured educational and recreational setting, the programme aims to help participants acquire new skills and engage in a range of cultural, sporting, and technological activities designed to enhance their knowledge and personal development.

Skills development across multiple areas

The summer programme is designed to utilise the school holiday to benefit children and teens through a series of workshops and activities focusing on heritage, traffic safety, arts, sports, and technology. It also features collaborations with cultural, governmental, and community organisations that will provide sessions aimed at strengthening participants’ awareness and building their social and personal capabilities.

A platform for positive youth engagement

Ahmed Saif bin Handhal, Director of the Sharjah Classic Cars Museum, affirmed that investing time in developing the skills and talents of young people is a social responsibility no less important than any other. He explained that the club’s annual activities aim to position it as more than just a venue for showcasing vintage cars. Instead, it serves as a dynamic social and educational platform that engages younger generations through informative and entertaining programmes, enriching their awareness, building life skills, and offering new horizons for self-discovery and time management.

Weekly themes with diverse experiences

The programme is structured around five themed weeks. The first, “I am Creative” (30 June – 3 July), focuses on developing artistic sensitivity through creative workshops, reading sessions, and traffic safety training. The second week, “This is Sharjah” (7–10 July), includes trips to the Four-Wheel Drive Museum, the Documentation House, and the Heritage Museum, along with practical workshops on culture and traffic regulations at the Sharjah Driving Institute. The third week, “I am the Community” (14–17 July), encourages a sense of responsibility and belonging through awareness sessions with community and health organisations, including visits to seniors' care homes and the Child Safety Department, in addition to hands-on activities like first aid, vehicle safety, and engine assembly. The fourth week, “I am Athletic” (21–24 July), promotes physical and mental fitness through exercise routines, virtual reality workshops, healthy nutrition, self-defence training, and a recreational trip to “Jump World”. The final week, “I am the Future” (28–31 July), explores the world of innovation and technology through workshops on artificial intelligence, comic design, logo sculpting, and interactive research into future cars, blending skill-building with forward-thinking exploration.

Unified daily activities

Each day of the programme will include standardised activities such as morning fitness sessions, field visits to locations like the Four-Wheel Drive Museum and elderly care facilities, interactive reading circles, and a closing ceremony presenting participants’ weekly projects. The summer initiative is supported by numerous prominent institutions, including the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments, the Ministry of Health, Sharjah’s Child Safety Department, FUNN Foundation, the Sharjah Driving Institute, Emirates Foundation’s SANID, and BEEAH Group. These collaborations enrich the content and provide participants with varied educational and practical experiences.
