Sharjah 24: The Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS)-Al Dhaid branch, in partnership with the Al Dhaid Cultural and Sports Club, organised the Motor Activity Training Program (MATP) for pupils with severe and multiple impairments (SXI). The initiative sought to promote inclusivity and community integration by offering a safe space for participants to express themselves and improve their motor and social skills.

Broad participation from across the UAE

Over 50 male and female students from various SCHS branches participated enthusiastically in the program, which was completed this morning. It also welcomed students from Ministry of Community Development centres such as the Dubai Centre for People of Determination, the Fujairah Centre for the Disabled, the Ras Al Khaimah Centre for the Disabled, and the Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination, giving the event a strong national dimension and demonstrating cross-emirate cooperation.

Activities tailored to abilities and needs

The programme included ten activity stations with sports and training exercises designed to improve motor skills and psychological engagement. Activities such as target throwing, ball kicking, jogging, boccia, and others were devised to cater to the participants' diverse abilities. The event culminated with a pleasant group activity involving a parachute, which encouraged enjoyment and engagement between students and supervisors.

Recognising efforts and support

The organisers arranged a closing ceremony to express gratitude to the participants, sponsors, and supporters who contributed to the success of the event. Rashid Abdullah Al Howaiden Al Ketbi, Secretary-General of Al Dhaid Club; Malek Musabah Al Ketbi, Board Member; Abdul Moneim Al Duwairi, Director of the Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS); and Moheir Obaid Al Khayyal Al Tunaji, Executive Director of the club, along with other guests, presented commemorative shields and certificates, expressing community appreciation for people of determination and their supporters.

Commitment to social responsibility

Salem Mohammed bin Huwaiden Al Ketbi, Chairman of Al Dhaid Cultural and Sports Club, noted that such events are an important component of the club's social responsibilities. He emphasised the necessity of continuing these programs in line with national objectives to empower determined people and provide inclusive places that foster confidence and engagement.

Ongoing partnership to promote inclusivity

He expressed heartfelt gratitude to Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS) for its pioneering efforts and reaffirmed Al Dhaid Club's commitment to being an active partner in community and humanitarian activities that promote a more inclusive and equitable society.
