He also noted that the airport continues to develop a number of comprehensive projects aimed at increasing its annual passenger capacity to over 25 million by 2027, while advancing sustainability and integration across its cargo, ground handling, and aviation services in line with international best practices.

In the first quarter of 2025, the airport recorded significant growth in air cargo operations, handling over 52,000 tons of freight, in addition to 3,000 tons through sea-air cargo integration—reflecting a diversification in operational models and the airport’s responsiveness to the evolving needs of partners and customers around the world.
