FNC pushes for closer cooperation with Montenegro

Sharjah 24 – WAM: Maryam bin Theneya, Second Deputy Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC) and President of the Women’s Parliamentary Forum (WPF) of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM), met with Dejan Djurovic, Head of the delegation from the Parliament of Montenegro, to explore opportunities for closer parliamentary collaboration.

Meeting held during Marrakech Economic Forum

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 3rd Marrakech Parliamentary Economic Forum for the Euro-Mediterranean and Gulf regions, held in Morocco. Several members of the FNC were also in attendance.

Focus on enhancing parliamentary cooperation

Discussions centered on deepening cooperation between the FNC and Montenegro’s Parliament, reaffirming the strong political and economic ties between the two nations. Both parties stressed the importance of regular dialogue and coordination on key regional and international issues.

Call for greater engagement and knowledge exchange

Maryam bin Theneya underscored the value of expanding communication channels through mutual visits, knowledge-sharing initiatives, and joint participation in parliamentary forums. She emphasized that these efforts strengthen bilateral understanding and collective policymaking.

UAE to host PAM Women’s Forum in June

Bin Theneya announced that the UAE will host the second session of the PAM Women’s Parliamentary Forum in Abu Dhabi this June. She expressed hope for Montenegro’s participation, noting the forum’s role in empowering female parliamentarians and advancing their contributions to development.

Montenegro praises growing bilateral ties

Dejan Djurovic commended the UAE-Montenegro relationship, describing it as steadily evolving across multiple sectors. He highlighted the shared commitment of both countries to deepening cooperation and building strong, future-oriented partnerships.
