UAE, Jordan discuss parliamentary cooperation and coordination

Sharjah 24 – WAM: Dr Tariq Humaid Al Tayer, First Deputy Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), discussed parliamentary cooperation relations between the two councils with Mazen Turki Al Qadi, Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, focusing on enhancing coordination and consultation on key topics at the 20th Session of the Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC) in Baku.

Strong UAE–Jordan relations and growing partnership

Both sides affirmed the strength of the fraternal and historic relations between the UAE and Jordan, highlighting the continuous development of ties across various fields under the guidance of the leadership of both countries and their shared commitment to deeper cooperation in service of mutual interests.

Role of parliamentary diplomacy and regional stability

The two sides stressed the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in strengthening bilateral relations and supporting cooperation on issues of mutual interest, contributing to regional and international security, stability, and sustainable development through closer coordination in parliamentary forums.

Commitment to security, stability, and cooperation

They reaffirmed their commitment to supporting regional and global stability, ensuring the uninterrupted flow of energy supplies, safeguarding maritime navigation, and protecting global trade and supply chains, stressing that any disruption to maritime routes poses a serious threat to international peace and security.

Enhancing future parliamentary cooperation

In conclusion, both sides agreed to enhance cooperation between the FNC and the Jordanian House of Representatives through continued exchange of expertise and best practices, and ongoing coordination in regional and international parliamentary platforms to strengthen dialogue and joint parliamentary action.
